Korean dried shrimp (mallin saeu, 말린새우) are shrimp that have been sun-dried and shrunk to a thumbnail size. They are used in many Korean cuisines, with a unique umami taste.

Usually a handful of shrimp is simmered in water to uses as a stock base or briefly soaked to reconstitute them, and then stir-fried with seasonings.

Dry shrimp is known for their fantastic anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties.

How to store dried shrimp

Once opened, put then in an air-tight container and store in the dark and cool place avoiding the direct sunlight.
