Ham and Cheese Pastry Puffs

These ham and cheese pastry puffs are great for savory breakfast or finger food. Store-bought puff pastry comes in handy for this recipe.

- 2 sheets frozen puff pastries thawed
- 8 ham or turkey slices
- 8 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese
- egg wash 1egg + 1 tablespoon water
Spice blend:
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC)
Cut the thawed pastries into 4 squares, lay ham and cheese diagonally.
Sprinkle a little bit of spice blend on top and fold two diagonal corners to the center and pinch together to secure.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bush the pastries with the egg wash and sprinkle more spice blend on top.
Bake them in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm or room temperature.
